TED18136 and TED31820 Bushings Installation (Manual #47)

When replacing metal-rubber bushes with polyurethane ones, we must take into account the different operating characteristics of such a bushing. Rubber bushes are usually manufactured as one-piece, and the rubber damping element is permanently connected to the metal element. In the case of polyurethanes, the damping element and the metal element are often separated, which is why the installation of the polyurethane bush can be non-standard so that it works properly. Below we present the method of installing the TED18136 and TED31820 bushes, which include an additional element in the form of a polyurethane washer, which prevents unwanted movement of the bush inside the socket.

1

Lubricate the inside of the thoroughly cleaned control arm socket with the included grease. Then press in the polyurethane bushing.

2

Lubricate the pressed-in polyurethane bushing inside and press in the metal bushing so that it is even on both sides.

3

Put the polyurethane spacer on the element at the top of the beam socket. It should rest on the polyurethane bushing.

4

Correctly mounted element.
